Alberta CSEP-HFP offers two levels of certification.
CSEP Certified Personal Trainer™
Available to individuals with a minimum of 2 years of formal post-secondary training in physical activity/exercise prescription focusing on health-related physical fitness.
CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist™
Available to individuals with a minimum completion of a 4-year university degree, e.g. in Physical Activity/Exercise, Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, etc. OR, allied health professionals, e.g. physical or occupational therapists, physicians.
Fitness Facility Accreditation
CSEP provides accreditation for fitness facilities that follow CSEP guidelines and employ CSEP CEP (TM) and CPT (TM) designated personnel.
